Top 5 Bing SEO Tips

Posted by ISP Media on January 7, 2010

  1. Backlinks – Backlinks are no longer the be all and end all of SEO. They are not as important for Bing as they are for Google.
  2. Links – In-bound links are supreme for Bing – and the anchor text matters most. Links from websites that say “click here” are nowhere near as important as links that use an important keyword. Quality anchor text does well in both Bing and Google.
  3. Link Spamming – this won’t help you much for Bing SEO. The quality of backlinks is most important, not the quantity. Link spamming is just as worthless for Google SEO as well.
  4. Domain Name – The age of a domain name is very important for Bing.
  5. Bing is more Flash-friendly than Google is – at the moment. Optimising a Flash site for Google has always been a bit of a nightmare. It is still too early to say for sure, but it does appear that for now, Bing appears to be flash-friendly in its results.

Get In The Know … Now!

Posted by ISP Media on December 9, 2009

We here at ISP Media spend a fair bit of time online researching, posting, tweeting, commenting and the like – it is important for us to stay on top of what is happening on and around the web as it occurs.

To do this we use websites called aggregators!

In general web terms, a news aggregator (also known as a feed reader, news reader or simply aggregator) is a software or web application which collects syndicated web content such as news headlines, blogs, podcasts, tweets and vlogs, in a single location for easy viewing.

To help you aggregate your news easily and quickly, we have placed our top 5 aggregator service sites below :

  1. Google Reader – (personal favourite – L) as Ican add feeds of interest to it and check them daily when I log into my Google Account!
  2. Stumbleupon – We are particularly fond of this service as it allows us to “stumble upon” packets of information that we may not have necessarily found through standard searching.
  3. Alltop – Clean and simple to use, if there is something important being said on the web, you can find it here, or you can create your own Alltop list and just find out the goss of your choice.
  4. Digg – A firm favourite if you want to know what is really hot on the web at any given moment, trending topics are the order of the day every day on this site.
  5. Kirtsy – one mainly for the ladies, if you need to keep up to date with what women want then this one is for you.

They are all free (some with the option to upgrade to a paid / professional account) and are an endless resource for the savvy business owner.

Covering off on every imaginable topic, it does not matter what line of work you are in – you will always be able to keep up to date with topical industry news so you can become a knowledge leader!

So what are you waiting for? Get out there, find out what’s happening, get involved and perhaps even consider turning your business into the hottest news of the day!

Smile and Kirtsy

Posted by ISP Media on December 8, 2009

This is a fabulous site, mainly targeted at Women – but I am sure there are a few sneak peeks from the men who want to know what we care about!!

The creators of the website describes it as:

kirtsy is like that friend who always finds the best stuff… only better. Because it finds the stuff online. And let’s face it, there are billions of online options…and finding something you’re interested in is sometimes tricky. So kirtsy was created as a portal where skirts can be raised with respect. A spot that you can stop in to see what excellent things others have found.”

With plenty of categories to choose from, you should be able to find what you are looking for:

  • Arts & Entertainment
  • Design & Crafts
  • Family & Parenting
  • Fashion & Style
  • Food & Home
  • Internet & Technology
  • Mind, Body & Spirit
  • Travel & Leisure
  • World & Business

Take a gander when you get a chance and enjoy skimming through the great articles and items of interest!

I would love to know what you think about in the comments!!
